ARTIST + AUTHOR

CC Hart is an interdisciplinary artist and writer whose work moves across visual art, film, and literature. She holds an MFA in Writing from the University of San Francisco, where her focus was long-form fiction. She is a published poet and essayist, and is currently at work on a book-length manuscript exploring mirror-touch synesthesia, empathy, and the complexities of acting with compassion in an often contradictory world.

Her creative practice is shaped by a longstanding engagement with the performing arts. She has worked in theater as an actor, educator, director, set dresser, fight coordinator, and stage manager. Across these roles, her enduring focus has been costume and adornment, particularly the language of attire and the expressive potential of what is worn.

She maintains a deep interest in millinery, including hats, fascinators, caps, and bonnets. For Hart, wearable forms are not only aesthetic objects but also tools for navigating sensory experience. As someone with sensory processing sensitivities, she is drawn to the ways in which clothing (especially headwear) can mediate perception and support embodiment.

Her visual artwork and illustrations have been exhibited and published internationally, with presentations in Spain, Russia, Belgium, England, the Netherlands, Australia, and the United States.

Selected work and exhibitions can be found on the CV page.
